Freedom Magazine Coverage of International Scientology Events

From time to time Freedom Magazine does features on Scientology events. As covered in the book What is Scientology ceremonies celebrated by Scientologists, while Scientologists celebrate many of the same holidays that those in their countries observe, there are several which are unique to the Scientology religion.

Also, a tradition which began over 20 years ago is to have an event with well known Scientologists as speakers and to record these and show them in every church and mission in the world.

These events are translated or subtitled in amazingly short order and are shipped out so the event can be held within one or at the most two weeks of having taken place.

And these events are quite sophisticated multi-media presentations including video clips of news from Scientology churches.

They are elegant presentations, well worth attending even if you are not a Scientologist.

David Miscavige is often the emcee of these events and usually gives the keynote speech as well. Mr. Miscavige is Chairman of the Board of Religious Technology Center.

Freedom Magazine has covered a number of these events. For example there is a Freedom Magazine article on an event where David Miscavige was master of ceremonies in Clearwater, Florida a few years ago, commemorating the anniversary of the birth of L. Ron Hubbard.

Freedom Magazine Continues to Win Awards

Freedom Magazine has won another award for their story in the current edition titled “North America’s Crime of the Century.”

At the Southern California Media Professionals 2006 Award Luncheon, Tom Whittle, the magazine's editor was the keynote speaker and was presented the 1st prize for this story.

For 7 years Freedom Magazine has been working with victims and their families to document this story, which begins: "In the mid-20th century, under the regime of Quebec Premier Maurice Duplessis, tens of thousands of disadvantaged children were transferred from orphanages into asylums in a corrupt ploy to divert funding into psychiatric coffers. Many simply vanished. Today, a small band of survivors and their families seek answers — and justice."

The latest edition of Freedom Magazine is online.

The lead story is about how the mental health industry has subverted Child Protective Services — leaving runied families in its wake.

In high-profile cases, such as that of Elizabeth Smart, the entire nation watches. Amber Alert systems notify police and private citizens to watch for the perpetrators.
